Welcome to Kindred Living

The Kids Have Grown.
The House Is Quiet.
Now What?

You spent years being needed, and now life looks very different. You love seeing your children build their own lives, but that doesn’t mean you don’t miss the one you had.

You’re not alone in feeling this way.
Welcome to Kindred Living. A place to find little things to look forward to and new ways to enjoy this chapter of life.

A new chapter

You can love this stage of life and still miss what came before.

For years, your days had a rhythm. School events, hockey games, rides, groceries and family suppers. There was always someone needing something. Then things changed. Suddenly there is more freedom, but sometimes that freedom feels surprisingly lonely.

Here, we can say that out loud. You do not have to pretend you love every minute of the quiet. You can start building a life with things you genuinely enjoy, one small decision at a time.

A little something for yourself

Find something lovely to try.

You don’t need a packed calendar. Sometimes it’s enough to find a good book, begin a little project, or make an ordinary evening feel special. Here are a few ideas to explore at your own pace.

For the book lover

Start a Reading Journal

Around the table

Cooking for a quieter table.

The family supper table still matters, even when fewer chairs are filled. Find practical food ideas and kitchen guides for this changing season of life.

“I don’t need my old life back. I need to find ways to love the life I’m living now, while still missing the one I had.”

A little about me

Hi, I’m Kelly.

I’m a mom of four grown children, a lifelong organizer, a book lover and someone who believes there is something special about getting everyone around the family supper table.

I know how much life changes when the children are grown because I’m living it too. I love my family fiercely, and I also know how quiet the house can feel. Kindred Living grew out of wanting to find good things to fill that space—and share those ideas with other women who understand.

I’m not here to coach you or tell you how you should feel. I’m here to share practical ideas worth trying, little pleasures worth making time for and a reminder that you’re not doing this on your own.
