The woman behind Kindred Living

Hi, I’m Kelly.

I’m a mom of four grown children, a small business owner, an avid reader and someone who loves nothing more than having everyone home around the supper table. I’m happiest at home, but I’m also someone who likes having a plan, a project and something to look forward to.

When my children grew up, I found myself in a stage of life I hadn’t quite prepared for. After years of hockey games, school events, family meals and everyone needing something, there was suddenly more room in the calendar. The freedom was lovely in some ways. In others, it felt lonely.

Why I started Kindred Living

There is a lot of life left to enjoy.

I don’t want my children to stop building their own lives. I’m proud of them. But that doesn’t mean I don’t miss the noise, the routines and the full house. Both things can be true.

I’ve learned that in this season, good things don’t always just appear on the calendar. Sometimes you have to intentionally put them there. A book you can’t wait to read. A puzzle night with friends. A cooking class. A thoughtful surprise in the mail. Even an ordinary evening at home that feels like something just for you.

That is the idea behind Kindred Living: a welcoming place where women can discover interesting, practical ways to bring a little more enjoyment and connection into everyday life. Some ideas will be free; others may become curated experiences, guides and thoughtful products you can choose if they suit you.

I’m not a life coach, and I won’t pretend to have it all figured out. I’m living this stage of life too, and I love sharing what I find useful.

“I don’t need my old life back. I need to find ways to love the life I’m living now, while still missing the one I had.”

Pull up a chair.
