It’s a little snowy and chilly here—perfect weather to cozy up and talk meals! I’d love to hear from you—what’s something you made last week that your family loved or you enjoyed cooking?

I didn’t start this week with a plan, so I thought I’d walk you through how I usually figure out our meals. It’s not fancy—just real life! Here’s what I do:

Scroll & Save: If I see a meal or recipe online I like, I snap a photo of it. Otherwise, I forget where I saw it!

Flyer Inspiration: Our flyers come Wednesday, and I check for sales by Thursday. If broccoli or peppers are on sale, I plan meals around them.

Paper Planning: I keep a reused piece of paper on the counter—one side for my daycare meals (think spaghetti, PB&J, eggs, smoothie bowls), the other for family meals.

Freezer Finds: I peek in the freezer and cupboards for ingredients that need using—like that chicken I’ve been debating about with Easter coming.

Calendar Check: If I have meetings or appointments, I plan quick or prepped meals for those nights.

Last week I made tuna melts that the daycare kids loved! And I made a big batch of chicken stew—chicken, carrots, celery, potatoes (and yes, I forgot the peas!). I’m also trying to use up some Epicure packages: cheeseburger pastafettuccine sauce, and planning quiche this week too.

On a personal note, I’ve started working one-on-one with a naturopath to balance my blood sugar, and I’m learning so much about how to fuel my body. I’ve been prepping roasted veggies, cooking fish, and changing up my breakfast to include more protein and colour. It’s been eye-opening—and delicious!

I’d love to hear what you’re making this week. Let’s help each other with new ideas and maybe spark someone’s next great supper.
